Beall’s Relocation Challenge
After deciding to relocate their existing e-commerce business into a different distribution center, Beall’s wanted to move their pack-away merchandise closer to their main facilities and operations. However, they were facing a major challenge—the new distribution center had much less square footage than where the merchandise was currently being stored.
SSSH’s Solution For Warehouse Storage
Beall’s turned to the SSSH team to help them overcome this challenge due to our knowledge and experience. Their decision came down to not only pricing, but who they trusted most to complete the project based on specific delivery and installation timelines. We partnered together to design, install, and implement a wire-guided, turret truck application for pallet storage.
With very narrow aisles, Beall’s was able to store more pallet positions in the smaller facility. Additionally, the wire-guided system allows for 100% selectivity, meaning operators can quickly pull the exact pallets they’re looking for—improving efficiency and performance throughout the facility.
The End Result
Beall’s is now able to store over 10,000 pallet positions in their new racking system when loaded to full capacity. Moving the distribution center closer to their main operations also resulted in savings on merchandise transportation and storage.
